El drama dirigido por David Fincher, Mank, se llevó 10 nominaciones para los Oscars 2021, que fueron anunciadas el día de hoy luego de varios retrasos por la pandemia del COVID-19. Le siguen con varias nominaciones “The Father”, “Minari”, “Nomadland” y “The Sound of Metal”, entre otras.
Entre las principales nominaciones de Mank podemos citar las categorías a Mejor Película, Mejor Director, Mejor Actor, y Mejor Fotografía. La película producida por Netflix, es un drama biográfico sobre el guionista Herman J. Mankiewicz y su desarrollo del guión del clásico cinematográfico Citizen Kane (1941).
La película de Fincher estará compitiendo en Mejor Película con grandes contendientes de la temporada como “The Father” -protagonizada por Anthony Hopkins-, “Judas and the Black Messiah”, “Minari”, “Nomadland”, “Promising Young Woman”, “Sound of Metal” y “The Trial of the Chicago 7”.
Dos mujeres fueron nominadas a mejor directora por primera vez con Chloé Zhao (“Nomadland”) y Emerald Fennell (“Promising Young Woman“), quienes competirán contra Thomas Vinterberg (“Another Round”), David Fincher (“Mank”) y Lee Isaac Chung (“Minari”).
La ceremonia de los Oscars 2021 se llevará a cabo de manera presencial en la Union Station de Los Ángeles y en el Dolby Theatre el 25 de abril, luego de haber sido postergada desde su fecha original del 28 de febrero.
